... being a mommy
- When I'm having a bad day, my babies' smiles can make everything all better for a little while
- My first thought is never about myself or Brent anymore, it's always about Kyle and Emily
- During bath time, everyone gets wet
- I can't do it all... sometimes I need help
- I don't get sick days
- Sleeping in?? What's that mean?
- Diapers are expensive
- I need to remember to eat and drink water
.... being a mommy of twins
- Routines are a MUST - especially a bedtime routine since I do bedtime by my self three nights a week
- It's nice to have two of things... swings, saucers, bumbo seats, high chairs, toys
- If Kyle has something, Emily will want it too
- If Emily has something, Kyle will want it too
- It's okay if Kyle and Emily swap spit.... as in share pacifiers, spoons, slobber
- Kyle and Emily are not aware of their personal space - they love to climb and crawl all over each other, and as long as they don't kick each other too hard in the face, they don't seem to mind the other one all up in their space
- I can do bath time all by my self!
- I love both of my children exactly the same amount (I was afraid I would have a favorite)
- It is possible to fly with two babies - as long as daddy comes too
- It's also possible to make it through 11 hours in the airport with two babies - as long as daddy is there too
- It's okay to just smile and keep walking when people make twin comments - I don't have to spot and let them gawk at my babies
- Sometimes I am just going to smell like breastmilk / spit up
- As much of a pain as the double stroller is to get out of my trunk - using the stroller is WAY easier than carrying two carseats or using a cart
- People say twins are "double trouble" and "double diapers" and so on.... I might have double the poopy diapers, double the spit up, double the work... But I also have double the smiles, double the giggles, double the hugs, double the cuddles, double the love... and double of all the good stuff. :)
I don't know about the twin stuff, but the other stuff is so true. It's amazing how much your perspective changes with the addition of one (or two) little bodies. But they are amazing and I can't imagine life without her.
