Plagiocephaly and Torticollis

Kyle had his physical therapy consult today. He has plagiocephaly and torticollis.
The torticollis is where is one side of his neck (the right side) is stiff, causing him to favor looking to the left. Kyle has the ability to look to the right, but it is a little bit restricted because of the torticollis. To treat this, we will go to physical therapy once a week for a while and will do stretches with Kyle at home.
The torticollis has caused Kyle to have plagiocephaly (aka flat head syndrome). The physical therapist took a bunch of measurements of his head and face. Basically the left side of his is flattened about a centimeter and the left side of his face is pushed forward about a centimeter. She reassured me this would not affect his cognitive development, but may cause issues with vision, teeth and jaw development, hearing, and such. She strongly suggested that we go see a neurosurgeon to have Kyle fitted for a helmet to reshape his head.
I called his pediatrician and spoke with the nurse. She is going to get the okay from the doctor, and then will have a consult set up for me with the neurosurgeon.

Update: His appointment with the neurosurgeon is on Friday.
