Nine Months Old and 39 Weeks Old!

In three short months, Mr. Colby will be a year old!! He's growing up way to fast!

Colby loves to move. He is constantly crawling, climbing, cruising, and when he feels like it... walking!

On a few occasions, Colby has walked across the room all by himself, but most of the time, his preferred method of transportation is either crawling or to be carried.

Lately Colby has been nursing... and nursing... and nursing... and nursing, but his "normal" is to nurse around 7:00am, 9:00am, 1:00pm, 3:30pm, and then before bed around 7:00pm. He eats meals with the rest of us around 8:30am, 12:00pm, and 5:30pm.  He's mostly eating baby food, but I had started giving him soft foods that he can feed himself as well.

Morning naps are kind of hit or miss. If Kyle and Emily are being quiet, I can typically get a 45 minute nap from Colby after he nurses at 9:00am. If Kyle and Emily are being crazy (which is what is normally going on), I have no luck getting Colby to take a nap. In the afternoon, Colby normally falls asleep shortly after he starts eating at 1:00pm and sleeps until about 3:30pm.

Sleeping through the night is still hit or miss. Some nights he makes it until 5:00 or 6:00am...other nights he's up multiple times during the night. I really hope that sleeping through the night becomes his norm soon!

Colby is still wearing mostly 6 month clothes and 6-9 month jammies.

Colby is still a happy kiddo most of the time... unless he's hungry, tired, or too far away from mommy!

Colby babbles all the time.

On Friday night, I left Colby with a babysitter for the first time! He's stayed home with Daddy for short periods of time a few times and he's stayed downstairs at church in the nursery and with grandparents on Sunday nights, but other than that, he's always been with Mommy! On Friday, Mommy and Daddy went to dinner and a haunted house with some friends. Colby went to dinner with us, and then we stopped "home" (the kids were all staying at one of the friends' house) and I fed Colby, and then left him with Gabby (the babysitter) while we went to the haunted house! It went well...and I only texted Gabby once to check on Colby!

Colby is very much a mama's boy. Mommy is his favorite and most of the time he doesn't like to get too far away from Mommy. He's also started to be more hesitant about strangers and new people.

Colby loves to give kisses! Wet... slobber... kisses on the mouth!

Colby likes to eat socks... He really likes to put everything and anything in his mouth... but if he can get his sock off... or find a sock in the ground... he puts it in his mouth and started laughing...

Colby loves to watch Kyle and Emily. He follows them around and tries to play with whatever they are playing with. Sometimes they like it... other times they don't!

Colby still doesn't have any teeth. There's been a few times when I thought maybe he was going to get some, but he hasn't had any pop through yet!
