Colby is GO GO GO! The kid never stays still. He is crawling all over the place. He likes to follow mommy around the apartment... and tries to keep up with Emily and Kyle. He's cruising along furniture. He can stand for a short time without holding on to anything. He can also take a few steps, but quickly crashes.
Colby LOVES to going into the bathroom for whatever reason... he loves to pull himself up on the toilet! Silly kiddo! Maybe it's a sign he'll be really easy to potty train....
Eating solids are still kind of hit or miss with Colby. We offer him solids three times a day... breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sometimes, he's a little piggy and eats and eats and eats. Other times, we fight to get him to take a few bites. When he's hungry, he seems to enjoy whatever we feed him. As far as purees go, he has had apples, bananas, pears, apple/banana/blueberry, carrots, green beans, and sweet potatoes. He also gets puffs at meal time and enjoys trying to put them in his mouth. Although, most of the time he can't seem to keep them in his mouth once he gets them in his mouth.
Colby still loves his mommy milk. He nurses around 7:30am, 10:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30pm, and then when he goes to bed at 7:00pm. He also nurses at random times in the middle of the night when he wakes up. When Kyle and Emily are up and playing, Colby typically only eats for about five minutes. He is very distracted and wants to get back to playing with Emily and Kyle. If they are sleeping(or doing something quietly with daddy), Colby normally eats for a half an hour or so. At night, he nurses for anywhere from forty five minutes to an hour and a half.
We seemed to have finally settled in to a decent eating schedule. He nurses at the times above, and eats solids when we eat meals at 8:00am, Noon, and 5:30pm. I have been trying to get him to take a nap in the morning after he nurses at 10:30am. This is kind of hit or miss, but if we do get a nap, it's normally about 45 minutes. In the afternoon, he normally takes a nap after he nurses at 1:30pm. His afternoon nap is normally about two hours.
Colby sometimes sleeps through the night, but most nights he wakes up wanting to eat at least once. I was really hoping once we started solids, he would sleep all night... but we've been doing solids for two months now and it's not seeming to help!
Our little peanut is wearing mostly 6 month clothes. He does still have some 3-6 month stuff in his drawers that still fit him, and a few shirts that are bigger so that he can match his brother and sister. His jammies are starting to get a little bit too short, so soon we will break out the 6-9 month jammies.
Colby has become very attached to his mommy! Before his night in the hospital, he preferred mommy... but now if tends to get upset if mommy isn't around. And if I'm is near, he normally reaches (or lunges) for me.
Colby is still a very happy and content baby for the most part. He gives away smiles and giggles very easily! He also likes to give wet sloppy kisses!
Colby loves to play with Emily and Kyle. He loves to watch them, follow them, steal their toys, and play with whatever they are playing with. Sometimes they like this and other times they don't... but they do love him and love to give him hugs and kisses!
