Think She Wants Some....

EDIT: Just to clarify... Emily was not really hungry. She had just finished eating and didn't want any more. I even offered her more after I took this video and she just wanted to play with the bottle and didn't want any more to eat :)

About an Ounce a Day

Kyle and Emily seem to be gaining about an ounce a day! We took Emily to the doctor this morning because she has been throwing up so much of her food still. Her doctor wants us to try to feed her a little less. He thinks her "eyes are bigger than her stomach" and she is eating too much. So good...

They weighed her just to make sure she is getting enough food... and she is 6lbs6oz! I can't believe how big she's getting!! Brent weighed Kyle with his clothes and diaper on and he was 8lbs6oz... so he's probably just over 8lbs naked.

We also noticed that Kyle is just about too long for his newborn sleep'n'plays (Jammies). He has been just wearing onsies the past couple days because it has been so hot, but it's a little cooler today, so I decided to put clothes on them. Looks like I am going to have to break out some of the 0-3 month jammies for him. The newborn onsies should still be okay for a little bit longer - they don't have to fit his crazy long legs!

Emily will still be in newborn clothes for a while - she needs to grow a couple more inches before she'll be too long. Most of the newborn clothes are still a little bit for her.

They both are still wearing newborn diapers. My guess is that Kyle will still be for another week or two and Emily will for another month or so...

Happy Easter

This is the first holiday the babies have been out in the real world to celebrate. It wasn't too exciting of a day... The babies babies started the day by throwing up several times. We went to church, where they were both being fussy. After church we ran home so that I could pump, and then we went to Jim and Janet's (friends from our old church who attend the same church we do now) house and enjoy Easter dinner with their family. We came home and I fed the babies while Brent mowed the yard. We then played and cuddled and took naps as a family. It's so nice having all of us home together :) I think Sunday afternoons are my favorite for this reason:) And now Daddy is reading the Bible to the babies and getting them ready for bed!

Brent is now working three jobs and has a regular schedule. Monday thru Saturday he is working at Primo's from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Monday thru Thursday, he does to the dry cleaning place after Primos and drives their van and normally gets home around 7:00pm. Friday and Saturday nights he is delivering for Pat's Pizza.

We are officially going to Indiana for an interview. We leave the morning of Saturday May 14th and come back on Monday in time for Brent to be to work. Please pray for us as we prepare to go and try to discern if this is the ministry that God is calling us to or not.

Still no interest on our house... hopefully as the weather is nicer and such, there will be some more...

Another prayer request... my cousin Monty was killed in a motorcycle accident early this morning. Please pray for his parents, Jeff and Diane (dad and step-mom) and Gayle (mom) and his brother Dustin.

My Six Week Follow Up

I had my six week follow up today. Everything is all good! The most exciting part of the visit was stepping on the scale! I am 17 lbs lighter than I was when I got pregnant!

Six Weeks Old

Emily all snuggled up and sleeping :)
Kyle telling Daddy to get the camera out of his face!

Yes, we are twins! Every once in a while Mommy dresses us alike :)

We're six weeks old!

I can't believe my babies are already six weeks old! They are growing up so fast and we are trying to enjoy every minute of it.

The only thing I don't like about being a twin mommy is all of the comments and extra attention I get in public when I have both the babies. Everyone that notices I have two feels like they have to say something. About half of the time, they say whatever they have to say to whoever they are with... and the other half they say it to me. It doesn't bother me if they just "oh, twins!" or something along those lines and keep on walking. But so many people feel the need to stop and gawk at them, which I really don't like. And then I get the comments "oh, double trouble" or "you have your hands full" and other such things. One lady the other day said "I think I would just have to kill my self if I had twins" - I responded "Good thing God gave them to me then" and walked away. My favorite comment so far has been "how far apart are they?" and I responded "six minutes". The lady then said "so must be they aren't twins then?" I wish I would have had something witty to say, but I just kindly told her they were twins and walked away. The other common question I get is "so, you got your boy and your girl, so now you're done right?" Some people do say nice things though. Yesterday a lady said "how sweet, a double blessing" and then kept on walking. I really do like those comments :)

One Month Well Visit

Kyle and Emily had their one month visit today. They both are doing well. Emily is 5 lbs 9 oz and 19 inches long. Kyle is 7 lbs 5 oz and 20 inches long. They are both behind where they should be for their actual age, but Kyle is a little above average and Emily is a little below average for their adjusted age (their age if they would have been born on their due date). They both also got their second hep b shot - and as a result, they have been crabby all afternoon. Here's a video of them wide awake and squirming around while we were waiting for the doctor.

In other news, Brent got another delivery job. This is good form the money side of things, but it's going to be rough on me. Yesterday I was home by myself with the babies from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm. Today, it's been from 10:30 am and Brent called a bit again and said he would be home around 11:00 pm. tomorrow will probably something similar. Please keep us in prayer as we adjust to this new schedule.

Kyle and Emily get to meet Grandma Eubank and Aunt Alyssa on Saturday! And they will be here until Wednesday. I am very much looking forward to having help for a couple days :)

Mommy's Boy, Grunting Girl, and Real Clothes

Kyle is a mommy's boy for sure! When he gets upset or scared, he wants me and only me! Hopefully it's just a phase and that he will end up like Emily and like everyone :) Emily grunts and grunts and grunts. She grunts when she's away. She grunts when she's sleeping. She grunts when she's pooping. She grunts! Both babies are doing well and continuing to grow. Kyle is now filling out the new born clothes that were baggy on him and is starting to fit into more of the larger newborn clothes that were WAY too big before. Emily still fits into a couple of her preemie outfits, but she is mostly wearing the smaller newborn clothes now. They still are too big, but she's getting to be too long for the preemies! Today Kyle and Emily wore real clothes to church (not jammies). They looked so grown up and cute :0

Due Date and Doctor's Appointment

Today was my due date! And Kyle and Emily will be 4 weeks old tomorrow :) We also had Kyle's follow up appointment today with the cardiologist to check on his heart murmur (a hole in his heart). He had an ultrasound of his heart and an EKG. It was cool seeing his heart on the ultrasound - and not having him in my belly :) He was also weighed and measured - the little dude is now 6 lbs 8.5 oz and is 21 1/2 inches long! The doctor said that the hole is about 3mm long, which is a moderate size. It is located between the two lower chambers of his heart (which we already knew). He said it's about the same as it was when he saw Kyle in the hospital. He said now we know for sure that the murmur is below his aortic valve, which is a good thing. The doctor is pretty sure that it will still correct itself, and even if it doesn't, he said Kyle most likely will have not any problems or limitations because of the murmur. His recommendation is to have it checked every couple months until Kyle is 2 years old. Emily was a good little girl and slept the whole time we were at Kyle appointment :) Afterwards, we met Brent and took the babies to the park. They really didn't seem to care that they were outside. Kyle slept until we was hungery. Emily ate and then slept.
